Domestic Helper EC Insurance

In accordance with Decree Law no. 40/95/M, employers are required to provide Employees’ Compensation Insurance for their domestic helpers so that they are protected in case of occupational accidents or occupational diseases.

Scope of Coverage

Scope of Coverage

Accidental Death
Compensation is calculated according to the age and monthly salary of the domestic helper's, with coverage as high as MOP1,080,000.

Funeral Expenses
Equal to 30 days of the domestic helper’s income, with coverage as high as MOP17,800.

Permanent Incapacity
Compensation is calculated according to the age and monthly salary of the domestic helper's, with coverage as high as MOP1,350,000.

Temporary Incapacity
Compensation of 2/3 of the domestic helper's daily income during the period of treatment and recovery.

Medical Expenses
The limit of medical expenses in relation to occupational or occupational disease is as high as MOP3,150,000.  For outpatient consultation, the coverage is as high as MOP300 per day

Prosthesis Fitting or Orthopaedic Appliances Expenses.
For initial fitting expenses, coverage is as high as MOP24,800.  For repair and replacement expenses, coverage is as high as MOP74,600.

 

 
 

Premium and No Claim Discount

Premiums are calculated according to the annual total income of the domestic helper and the applicable premium rate, subject to a minimum premium of MOP345.

Premium = Annual Total Income X Premium Rate X (1 – NCB %)

For Domestic Helper EC Insurance policies with no claims in a policy year, No Claim Bonus (NCB) will be offered in the subsequent year. This No Claim Bonus can be accumulated by year, starting from 10% up to a maximum of 20%.
